It’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.

I don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little – if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that’s the day she has a date with destiny. And it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.

Universal Truths.

  • Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones.
  • At the end of every party there is always a girl crying.
  • One of the most awkward things that can happen in a pub is when your pint-to-toilet cycle gets synchronised with a complete stranger.
  • You’re never quite sure whether it’s ok to eat green crisps.
  • Everyone who grew up in the 80’s has entered the digits 55378008 into a calculator.
  • Reading when you’re drunk is horrible.
  • Sharpening a pencil with a knife makes you feel really manly.
  • You’re never quite sure whether it’s against the law or not to have a fire in your back garden.
  • Nobody ever dares make cup-a-soup in a bowl.
  • You never know where to look when eating a banana.
  • It’s impossible to describe the smell of a wet cat.
  • Prodding a fire with a stick makes you feel manly.
  • Rummaging in an overgrown garden will always turn up a bouncy ball.
  • You always feel a bit scared when stroking horses.
  • Everyone always remembers the day a dog ran into your school.
  • The most embarrassing thing you can do as schoolchildren is to call your teacher mum or dad.
  • The smaller the monkey, the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
  • Some days you see lots of people on crutches.
  • Every bloke has at some stage while taking a pee flushed half way through and then raced against the flush.
  • Old women with mobile phones look wrong!
  • It’s impossible to look cool whilst picking up a Frisbee.

  • Despite constant warning, you have never met anybody who has had their arm broken by a swan.
  • The most painful household incident is wearing socks and stepping on an upturned plug.
  • People who don’t drive slam car doors too hard.
  • You’ve turned into your dad the day you put aside a thin piece of wood specifically to stir paint with.
  • Everyone had an uncle who tried to steal their nose.
  • Bricks are horrible to carry.
  • In every plate of chips there is a bad chip.

INSPIRATION-March 2009, Part III

When we long for a life with no difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds, and diamonds are made under pressure.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious, it is the true sourse of art, science, and friendship.”
-Albert Einstein

I am a lucky girl. Most people search their whole lives to find just ONE person who understands them. I’ve got a wonderful husband, and a tiny handful of the best friends I could ever ask for.

Together they exude kindness. creativity. ambition. hope. humor. adventure. determination. strength. honesty. absolute brilliance.

Even in the darkest of times, they shine bright like none I have ever seen.

I wouldn’t be who I am today if they hadn’t loved me so very much.

Link Love.

Last night I kissed Tricky.

That is all.

By 30, you should know:

01. How to fall in love without losing yourself.
02. How you feel about having kids.
03. How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.
04. When to try harder and when to walk away.
05. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next.
06. The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town.
07. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to.
08. How to take control of your own birthday.
09. That you can’t change the length of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents.
10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.
11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love.
12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long.
13. Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally.
14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.
15. Why they say life begins at 30.
