I ADORE: January 2010

Haus of Gloi – Fine Olfactory Cuisine & Vegan Goods

During a half-asleep, late night internet shopping session, I ordered some sample sizes of Sugar Creme from Haus of Gloi in Satyr and Twice is Nice. Little did I know, I would soon fall in love and forever turn my back on my LUSH obsession. But in all seriousness, their bath products are fabulous in every way. I possibly have the world’s most fickle skin, but it adores this stuff. The scents are heavenly! As you can see, I’m partial to Twice is Nice (buttery sugar cookie with shavings of creamy coconut and almond slivers), but I love all the samples I’ve been sent. Their scents are rich and decadent, without being overpowering. I feel so wonderfully spoiled!

I highly, highly recommend their shop, and while you’re at it, their blog is pretty neat too.

I love sharing the wonderful handmade goodies (especially bath and body related) I come across.
If you guys have any up your sleeve, please let me know!

Sneak peek at a new project…

Stripmall Architecture & Heart Palpitations.

I’ve been hinting at a secret project in the works. Well, it’s time to share my wonderful news!!

I am VERY proud to announce that I am doing the album artwork for Stripmall Architecture’s upcoming album ‘Feathersongs for Factory Girls’ ! Not only is the idea of having my artwork on a cd cover amazing, but the fact that I have adored their music since I first heard them as Halou many years ago makes this all the more special to me. I can’t wait to hold the finished cd in my hands. Eeee!

Rebecca and Ryan have had several different projects-Halou, R/R Coseboom and now, Stripmall Architecture.
If you haven’t heard them before, I highly recommend you take a listen. Each project is a little different, but all are equally amazing. Below are a few of my favorite Halou tracks. Enjoy!

All my language slipped away.

This is a top secret project very close to my heart.
I can’t wait to tell you more!

Consumption.

I have wanted to order Mini Moo Cards for a year now. I finally took the plunge! (I know, I know..I’m a daredevil. :P ) They arrived in the cutest packaging ever. I knew they were smaller than average business cards, but they were still a little smaller than I anticipated. I still love them and the fact that they fit perfectly in the gift boxes I send my necklace orders in.

Things to come..

Dr. Sketchy’s in Dallas is back!

Dabbling in thread.

I’m one of those people who can hardly sit still. I often draw, write or even read while watching movies. Last night I decided to attempt some embroidery on some cross-stitching fabric I had laying around. Thanks to my mom I have tons of different shades of thread to work with. My next project will probably be a lot more colorful. It’s been about 12 years since I’ve really sat down and attempted anything of this nature, so I definitely consider it a practice run. Ta daaa.

For some reason, the backs are always my favorite. ;)
